Default Suggestion for Good Books

So, a few weeks ago in my bio sci seminar, the instructor told us that the reason why a lot of people don't do well on their MCAT is because they don't read enough. I don't really know how the two relates, but it motivated me to start reading more books. I also think that more reading will improve my English. I don't really know what books I should read though, so I was wondering if anyone has any suggestion for good books. I'm open to anything. Thanks.

Well it depends on what types of books your interested in. If you give me a genre, I can give you a few titles.

People have suggested me to read The Da Vinci Code, A Thousand Splendid Suns, and The Poisonwood Bible. So, I'm thinking of maybe adding a non-fiction to the list.

Uhh, I recommend Terry Pratchett books. He has an awesome sense of humor. The Discworld concept is pretty cool, too.

Try the classics especially Dumas. Like Three Musketeers, Count of Monte Cristo. Tom Sawyer is good read. Depends what you are into of coarse

Super duper late response:
If you like Fantasy, try the Dragons of Pern Series by Anne McCaffrey or the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. Both are EXCELLENT reads IMO. Also, though it kinds sounds stupid, the Harry Potter series 'aint bad either.

And you thought 5P1K3 hadn't posted in years, you guys probably don't even REMEMBER me xD

It's Ra! I never really got into the bulk of the Pern series, but the trio (Dragonsong, Dragonsinger, and Dragondrums) was really good. D:

The Harry Potter books are always a good read.

For a more serious and challenging read try Ayn Rand books
The Fountainhead, Atlas Shrugged are her most famous works.
